A new website and a new year.

I would like to extend my appreciation for your continued support. It has been a challenging few years as I have been fighting what my LLMD calls “Chronic, Persistent Lyme Disease”, which is the result of not being diagnosed for many years.

Despite the health challenges, I have been fortunate to be back to sewing, although I continue to need to manage my time. Although it might seem challenging to consumers, it is actually a benefit for all. I will no longer over-extend myself, creating a negative stress environment for my health. But rather, my time will be balanced with meeting clients needs while giving them the quality they desire and have come to appreciate from my time working for them.

My main objective is to work on Heirloom items, repurposing from times past, or creating memorable reminders of special moments in one’s life.

I will still provide alterations and mending, and although I will still provide some “fitting” work, this service will be limited. I will continue to work long-distance with clients who request specific sewing services.

Military service personnel, although I will always try to get things right back to you, it is still important for you to plan for your patch placement needs, or any necessary adjustments your uniforms might need.

As I work with fiber textiles in the cycle of life, I will be using my creative energies to create usable products for consumer needs. If you have an idea that you would like me to work on for you, please let me know. If you have fibers and fabrics you might be sending off to the landfills, please consider if it might be able to be repurposed.

Well, it has been a long couple of weeks, with my trying to update this new site and I need to get to cleaning up the sewing room, as well as work on some projects I have in front of me. I hope that I was able to incorporate the vast sewing that I have done in the past, as a means to share the variety of skills that I have.

Thank you for visiting, and may I wish each of you a very Happy New Year with hopes of health and happiness.

love,
Laura
